About Our Facility

Welcome to Unleashed K9 Social Club, an employee-owned and operated dog daycare that takes a unique approach to canine care. Our mission is to provide a stress-free environment for dogs to build meaningful relationships with other dogs in our community.

Unlike other daycare facilities, we don't accept drop-ins or unknown dogs. Instead, all of our canine clients are regular pack members and are encouraged to come weekly. This allows us to create a safe, stable, and predictable environment for our dogs to thrive in.

At Unleashed K9 Social Club, we believe that being a part of a pack provides essential health benefits for dogs. Our approach is designed to encourage natural social behaviours and promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being for every dog in our care.

If you're looking for a dog daycare that prioritizes quality over quantity and treats your dog like family, look no further than Unleashed K9 Social Club. Contact us today to schedule a temperament assessment and join our pack!

At Unleashed K9 Social Club, we believe in the power of pack dynamics to promote dog mental health and well-being. Research shows that dogs are social creatures that thrive in group environments, with studies indicating that regular socialization can reduce stress, improve cognitive function, and increase overall happiness. Our unique pack-based model provides a safe and supportive environment for dogs to build relationships, play, and learn from each other. By joining our pack, your pup can experience the many benefits of socialization, including reduced anxiety, improved mood, and increased self-confidence. Plus, with our carefully curated community of friendly dogs, you can trust that your furry friend is in good hands. Come see the difference our approach makes for your dog's mental health and happiness - apply today!

* A study published in the Journal of Veterinary Behavior found that regular socialization with other dogs reduced cortisol levels (a stress hormone) in shelter dogs.

* A study in Applied Animal Behaviour Science found that dogs that participated in regular playgroups showed improved cognitive function and problem-solving abilities compared to dogs that did not.

* The American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior recommends regular socialization as an important component of dog mental health and well-being.

Policies & More Info

We are excited for the new addition to our pack! To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all our members, we ask that you please review the following information and policies:

Hours and Parking

  • We are open Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, and closed on holidays.

  • Our parking lot is around back for pick-ups and drop-offs.

  • In the event of extreme storms with expectations of flash flooding, heavy snowfall, or hazardous road conditions, we will not be open. Closures will be posted on our facebook page @ Unleashed K9 Social Club. So if the forecast looks terrible or the roads are a mess, it is best to check the facebook page before you head out. We will be sure to post the night before, or first thing in the morning. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in keeping all the dogs and humans safe.

Pick-Up and Drop-off

  • Drop off time begins at 7:30. We kindly ask that you do not arrive early, as we need time to set up for our guests.

  • For the security of the dogs at daycare, we ask that you and your dog wait behind the gate for assistance and keep the gate closed.

  • Half day (up to 5 hours) and micro day (up to 3 hours) guests will need to be picked up by 5pm. Full day guests no later than 5:30 please!

  • A $25 late fee may be applied for pick-ups between 5:30 and 6pm, and $15 per quarter hour thereafter.

Health and Safety

  • If you or your dog shows signs of illness, or has symptoms that may be contagious such as coughing, sneezing, vomiting, or diarrhea, we ask that you refrain from attending daycare. This is for the safety and well-being of our very small staff and all of our guests. We reserve the right to refuse service if a dog arrives showing any symptoms, and will ask you to stay home until symptoms resolve.

  • If your dog shows any signs of illness or injury, we will isolate them and contact you immediately.

  • Dogs with aggressive behaviour may be asked to leave the daycare.

  • No nudity please! Your dog must arrive on a leash with a collar/harness. If you prefer your dog not to don a harness at daycare, they must also be wearing a collar. Should there be an emergency, trying to catch a naked dog can be a lot like trying to wrangle a wet seal.

  • The daycare space stays nice and cool in the summertime. Should there be excessive temperatures, know that we would be more than happy to have an unexpected guest, than to have one of our club members at risk of heat stroke. Please don't hesitate to bring them, we are here for them!

Email Response Times

  • Please note that while we strive to be responsive to all emails, we may not be able to respond to emails with immediate attention. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we prioritize caring for the dogs in our facility.

  • Please note that we will be available to respond to emails Monday through Friday, and during regular business hours. If you send a correspondence over the weekend, or past closing time, rest assured we will respond at the next available opportunity.

  • If you have an urgent inquiry or concern, please feel free to call the daycare at (604) 435-5505.

Billing and Payment

  • Billing will be done between Friday and Sunday by email.

  • We accept e-transfer or cheques. Cash payment is also accepted in exact change as we do not keep cash on the premises.

  • We require payment made within one week of the billing date, late payments may be penalized with a $25 late fee.

  • If you require more time to pay your bill, please speak to us and we will do our best to accommodate!

Bathroom Breaks and Urinary Health

  • For the health and comfort of your dog, we ask that you make sure they have had a bathroom break before entering daycare. This is particularly important for maintaining their urinary tract health and preventing accidents in the daycare. Our staff takes the dogs out for bathroom breaks every 1.5 - 2.5 hours (or more frequently if needed). However, to help ensure that all dogs are comfortable and able to enjoy their time at daycare, we ask that you arrive with your dog already relieved.

  • If you have specific concerns about your dog's bathroom needs or habits, please let us know so we can provide the best possible care.

Marking Behaviours, Belly Bands, and Minimizing Bacteria

  • While we understand that marking behaviour is natural for some dogs, it can lead to the spread of bacteria and can be disruptive to the daycare environment. Therefore, if your dog has a history of marking or begins to mark while at daycare, we may require that they wear a belly band. Belly bands are a simple and effective way to prevent marking, and help to maintain a clean and hygienic environment for all of our guests. If your dog requires a belly band, we ask that you provide one for them.

  • We will monitor your dog's behaviour and work with you to address any marking issues. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our daycare a safe and enjoyable space for all the pups.

  • On the same note, if your dog happens to mark on the way into or out of the daycare, please kindly let us know immediately. This will allow us to promptly clean it and prevent any other dogs from marking in the same spot. By alerting us, you're helping us to maintain a clean and odor-free environment for our guests, and reducing the marking behaviour.

Attendance and Absences

  • We encourage all club members to attend on a weekly basis, as this allows them to become familiar with the other dogs and helps to maintain a consistent, safe, friendly, and positive social environment, and allows the dogs to form bonds and down right adorable little friendships!

  • If your dog will be absent due to vacation, injury, illness, or any other reason, we kindly ask that you keep us updated on their status. This will help us to plan accordingly and ensure that we can hold their spot in daycare until they are able to return.

Open Communication and Sharing

  • We value open communication and encourage you to share any relevant information about your dog's training progress, recent events that may affect their behaviour, or even cute stories about their adventures! We believe that this kind of sharing helps us to provide the best possible care for your dog and allows us to tailor our approach to accommodate individual needs.

  • We're also open to suggestions and feedback about our services. Your insights are valuable to us, and we are always looking for ways to improve and provide an exceptional experience for both you and your dog.

We're here to partner with you in your dog's care, and we look forward to getting to know your dog better!

Thank you for choosing our small business, we sincerely appreciate your support!
